SPEED:
-Cache
-RAM
-Flash memory
-Solid State drive
-Magnetic hard disk
-Magnetic tape (Magnetic back up tape)
SIZE (or capacity):
Cache = 8 MB
RAM = 4-8 GB
Flash memory- 16 GB
Solid state driver = 128-256 GB
Magnetic hard drive = 1-2 TB
Magnetic tape = 8 TB
1) As the amount of storage increases, the Read/Write speed of it slows
2) Generally, as speed increases, so does the volatility
3) For example:
Cache and RAM are fast but volatile
HDD and Tape are slow but Non Volatile

What is back up?
Back up is an exact copy of data, stored externally the original.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BACK UP AND BACKING STORAGE?
The difference is that a back up storage is an external component whereas Backing storage is internal and cannot be removed from a computer.
